I work for a very intense Company. On the outside we look all fun, on the inside it is a tough gig. But I guess that is what makes us an amazing Company.
When I was younger, I never cared in the slightest. Usually it meant the supervisor had a task for me. Then about 5 years into my career one supervisor fired me out of the blue... Still no idea why, they quoted not a good cultural fit.... I was caught so off guard because I thought I was getting called in to just get a new task to work on or maybe even go over schedule or something basic.
Now I dread I'm going to be fired for literally no reason, because its now already happened once.

I never want to be caught off guard that's why I always have a slight anxiety attack before I walk in the office. I don't want to walk all relaxed and she says, "shut the door for me" lol
Don't be scared, they can't eat you...it's against the law.
Friday afternoon, and when you walk in there are several people in the office you usually never see, and one is carrying an empty cardboard box for you.
With experience this will get easier. Here's some points:
1. Someday you'll screw something up, and you're boss will haul you in to yell at you. Then, you'll have seen the bottom and know it's not that bad.
2. While not always, many bosses don't actually want a two way conversation. Just listen to them, try and gather what they want, go do your work and tell them it's what they asked for.
3. Set each conversation with a quick softener. A comment that tells the boss that we're both human. Hey <boss> I had a great weekend, and am recharged for project x, how was yours? Even if they say good and move on, if you've done nothing wrong, at some point you're going to get a conversation.
