We're off Christmas day through the 28th. New Years is 1st through 4th. A lot of guys decided to take vacation. Vacation block available was 12 December to 5 January. If you don't take vacation, it's 1/2 days. I decided not to take vacation as it's only 1/2 days and since I wasn't going out of town, I figured I would save up some vacation days.

Only Dec. 25 and Jan 1 (forgot to check that in the poll), but we are expected to have very very very little work from December 22ish - Jan 3-4ish. Coworker said last year on Xmas eve they were only there for 2 hours. Dec. 26 for 1.5 hours. Kind of annoying actually. I just started in early October so I don't have enough vacation time to take off on Friday and Saturday to go visit my dad in Georgia (my days off are Sunday and Monday). Gonna make me come in for an hour and that kills my chance of going to see my daddy But whatevs, I don't like that part but it is what it is.

Any time a major holiday falls on a Thursday, we get the Friday off (with pay) for a 4 day weekend.

One of the reasons I miss my old job... would have been off Dec 24 - Dec 1.
And pretty much half day on Dec 23, all paid.

Current job, off Dec 24/25 and Dec 31/Jan 1st with pay.
But using my annual personal day, comp day and will only need a couple of vacation days to be off until the 4th (or save them and work from home which will be slow days anyways.)

My specific office and division is closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after Christmas, and the same for New Years (New Years Eve, New Years Day, and the day after New Years).

I'm taking Christmas week and New Years week off entirely, however.

Thanks to Obama, since my company follows Fed scheduling, we are off the 25th and 26th for Christmas, combined with getting off at 1:30pm Christmas Eve (meaning I can surprise mom in KY for a couple of days.) For NYE, 1:30 pm release NYE (I took this day off anyway since I'm traveling to Cleveland.) and New Years Day off.
