If you are just in it for the paycheck, regardless of the structure of pay or promotions, it is a job.

If you truly enjoy getting up in the morning every day and really live for what you are doing, if it is your calling, then it is a career.

The vast majority of people, including myself, work jobs. A very fortunate few really develop meaningful careers.
