I'm 64 and no I couldn't do it ... osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis and painful knees and hands would prevent me from this. If I was 20 years younger? I'd do it in a heartbeat

Same here! I know it would be hard work, but that doesn't scare me. I like that the job has a tangible result, also. I often find I'm jealous of the janitors because at least they can see the results of their efforts. That is something I just don't get with my current job.

In a heart beat, man some of yall are lazy.

Age 26, would be making 156k a year.

Maybe its the 5 years I spent in the Army but I only read the first page and really people? You wouldn't double your income if it ment moving around, bending over, standing in the sun and sweating?

I'm talking about the physically able people btw

I'd do it for twice my current salary down here in Texas because of the extreme heat conditions under which I'd have to pick crops. My skin doesn't like extreme heat.

In a different area with milder climate, I might just do it for the money I'm making right now. I imagine it'd be a lot less stress, and I could save on the cost of a gym membership when my work was physical exercise.

I'm 32 years old and in excellent physical health.

Everybody isn't lazy - a lot of people would prefer something a little more challenging and aren't cut out for physical labor of that sort. After a few months, many people that claim they would do it, would find it harder than they imagined and really come to hate their job. Many of the illegals are not skilled enough or educated enough to do anything else and probably hate it as well. Before they came along plenty of people's parents and grandparents did the exact same thing until they got an education and could do better. I don't think anyone really enjoys doing backbreaking labor in the hot sun. The main reason some have said they would do it for double or triple their salary is because they see it as a short-term proposition to save money to do the things they really want to do. If they had to do it for double or triple their salary for the next 10 years or so, I think it would be a different story.

For double my salary, certainly. but i think the question is silly "would you do something pointless for an amount of money no one would every pay you to do it?"

no, couldn't do it. backbreaking, long, hard labor. Heat, bugs, pain. no thanks. I don't think most of us would last too long out there. And by most of us I mean spoiled middle class americans like me
