We live in a real rural area now but 20 minutes away there is everything.
We also recently purchased land outside of Marshall - 15 acres in Big Pine - We will be building there starting this year - Marshall/Weaverville area is great - roads are still not too crowded - towns are growing - Marshall especially needs people to invest in the downtown - there are lots of empty buildings and you cannot build any new ones due to the flood plain - but the old ones are becoming a bookstore - condos - we really need a riverfront restaurant if the town council will ever agree to allow the sale of liquor (as Hot Springs has done. We know that the area will grow - we just hope it doesn't happen too fast! We'll be back in September - can't wait to be there full time by 2009! I think it would be a wonderful place to raise young children - they will certainly have an appreciation for nature.
