To the Parkies,

We too were looking at Pinebrook Farms but have taken a step back because of the Lowe's and WalMart Development.

I live east of Fairview and drive thru Fairwiev into Asheville. I love the valley, one good road, 4 lane Hwy 74. Fairview meets all our day to day needs. It seems every couple of months a new development opens up. The latest is the Cliffs. Still a qiute place but change is comming.

Biltmore Village is 20 minutes, Lowes, and Walmart are 15 minutes. downtown Asheville 20 minutes

Easy access to I 40, I 26, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Ashville Airport. and Charlotte is 2 hours away.

Don

Default My two cents :)

I live just south of Asheville about 45 minutes. My only advice about getting too far north of Asheville is the paper mill stench you smell....Just south of Canton through the north part...is really bad.

We like just south of Asheville because for retirees it's much cheaper yet you have access to Lake Lure and other very nice golf communities. I guess it just depends what you're used to or looking for!

Good luck!

Canton is actually WEST of Asheville not North - north of Asheville has some very nice areas.
