Soon I will be venturing to the area and I was wondering if there are any new restaurants or anything that has opened~? Is there any restaurants that are closed or anything else that closed~? Last time I was there I ventured somewhere like an hour or so way to a restaurant and lo and behold it was closed. That is why I am asking. One owner on Atlantic Ave told me last year that there use to be so many stores off the Avenue but closed. He was trying to close his at the time I ask and was like that the year before I came too, I think. Anyways, any info is appreciated

Not sure what type of restaurant you are seeking but Atlantic avenue in Delray Beach downtown east of Swinton is booming..there are people literally ready to knife each other to get space. I have only been here since oct 2011 and tried about 7 different restaurants so far...not sure what is new, but definately nothing has closed since i have been here.

If you are talking specifically about veggie restaurants i would have no idea. I do not eat any red meat but chicken, turkey and anything yanked from the sea and i mean anything could be an old tire iif it was pulled from salt water ill try it.

Thanks for your reply. I was referring to the restaurants and stores in the other direction on Atlantic. A man told me that there use to be shops across from him on the side streets, across from the hotel that has those huge fish aquariums.

When I was there last year, a couple grocery chains closed. Not sure if it was in Delray, but it wasn't far. The restaurant was a vegetarian, but numerous of other places I went to closed also. Anyways, we all make choices in what we eat.

You'd think developers would jump on these. is it the cities (govt) that complicates these? The zoning laws? the parking ?

LOVE Atlantic Ave
