Lol but I'd be complaining too if NYC was like that, I couldnt imagine that. Melbourne's Summer is sounding like June/early July 2009 in NYC (nightmare).

Ocean temps this warm are normally only seen from Coffs Harbour northwards, which is officially where temperate ocean currents meet subtropical ocean currents.
However, this time of the year one could expect around 22C water in Newcastle waters, usually reaching a peak of 23-24C in February-March.
The water on Saturday reminded me of Esperance WA (around 17-18C), which never warms up.

After the weekend warmth we're back to our usual weather -- 16 C, drizzling and overcast at noon.

Me too, I'd rather it come soon enough but I know first I have to go through just another chilly February , a cold March , and an irritatingly cool April , until I get to a May with finally some nice weather , although still with the chance of occasional cool days .

Unless it's like last year, when spring arrived early.

Nightmare? 2009 was probably my favorite summer in recent memory (although admittedly I did lose some work hours, but still worth it IMO). There were still plenty of days in the 70s and 80s.

Not impressed with J*tstar. Supposed to be flying back to Sydney this afternoon from Melbourne. However it is an international check in not a domestic as flight continues to Honolulu. So I was supposed to have photo ID to check in which of course I don't. An $80 transfer fee and a 4 hour wait here at airport before I get home. Typical budget airlines - hidden costs and wats if rorting extra cash out of you!

Well I thought it was a domestic flight until I realised it required checking in at the international terminal. Just have got used to not carrying photo ID on domestic flights the last few years. Just happens that this flight is part of an international one!

You think you've got problems... look at our forecast:

15 / 23 C
11 / 22 C
11 / 18 C
11 / 19 C
11 / 18 C

Am I in northern Scotland or something?

Meanwhile Orcland is seeing nothing but humid 25+ C highs, 20+ C dewpoints and 20+ C lows.
