Hottest night of the year so far, with 20.6C as the lowest hourly reading. Previous warmest was 17.2C on the night of June 4-5. It's also a full degree warmer than the warmest night we had last year. Last year's warmest nights by hourly readings:
Very high dew points for this area too, peaking at 21C yesterday evening, remaining above 19C through the morning, and now back to 21C.
The next two nights may be even warmer and more humid.
Last night was even warmer with a low of only 21.8C, a full 2C (4F) warmer than the warmer last of 2023. Now we just hit 90F, for the first time since June 21, 2022. Dew point is a bit lower than yesterday though, only 69F, yesterday dew points reached as high as 73F.
While the east is burning, here I'm still waiting for some hot weather.
So far June has a mean temperature of 12.9 Celsius, 18.8 max and 7.0 min. Hottest day of the month reached 25.1 on June 14th. Some warmer days are yet to come before the end of the month but looks like that won't be enough to bring the mean up to the typical monthly average of 15.6.
Big system of thunderstorms hitting the GTA/SW Ontario right now. Probably over 50mm of rain in much of Halton, even here where the storms were smaller it looks like over 40mm.
Dewpoints have generally been a bit lower than for you guys this week, but not by much. They briefly spiked to 74.7F on the 19th just before the first downpour of the week. In the past 104 hours, the average dew point has been 69F, with the lowest dew point being 64.6F. Looks like the humidity should ease off on Sunday though. For now, it's still pretty hot and the soil is soaking wet so the sun and plants will keep cranking moisture into the air with maximum RH (95%+) every night.
