The feedback loop in California will be extremely hard to break at this point, the water sources are so depleted that less low level moisture is available for storm systems that do develop.

California is prepared to take on fires. were prepared better than ever to tackle them.
Pacific Northwest, not so much. Look for them to be making the news this year because of fires

California AG will be the bigger issue for us.

It's been like that for years and will never come back to normal in our lifetimes. We are stuck with a La Nina most of the time anyways. Not had any kind of cold winter since 2010 in FL.

113f heat this Sunday in Fresno
Near all time high
It's early July, so at best we have 1.5 months of this crap left. Most likely this above average heat won't end until mid September. Sigh.

Excessive heat coming to the West AGAIN Friday to Monday. Vegas could match or best its all-time high of 117 this weekend. Death Valley could hit 129-131--as hot as it's been anywhere on the planet in many decades: https://t.co/ikNHcHAb4J

131 will be happening in death valley
117+ will be happening in Vegas
The Models are agreeing
Only thing possibly stopping it would be wildfire smoke.
I'll be back after this crap is over. Gonna find a place to cool off this weekend. Too much for me, and i never run away.

Watch for this heatwave to be almost as deadly as the pnw heatwave.

And yet coastal SoCal will be in 70s, best climate in the world for a reason.

I just checked the wind predictions
16mph predicted on Sunday in Fresno
If the wind gets stronger, it could push the heat up to the 115 range.
:0

Vegas could see two days of 117+, it just depends on that smoke. Keep tabs on Vegas, I think that will be the death zone in America. Central valley will heat up, but nite time should cool enough to stop a mass casualty event.

Edit: no wind for Vegas this weekend. Holy. Nite time will feel hellish

got 2 inches of rain in a 3 hour period . Flash flooding, caused a lot of traffic jams in the area, lol.

Apparently the heavy rain was pretty isolated. KNYC and KTEB got 2+ inches but other stations in the area got a lot less.
