Interesting possibilities ahead for the middle of next week. Both major models make it increasingly likely that Teddy or his remnants will hit Nova Scotia. Meanwhile, a very deep upper level low approaches the west coast. Excellent agreement between models at this time.

The west-coast low could produce sudden onset of autumn rains here: if things pan out the wettest locations could see more than 200 mm of rain.

Hopefully that precipitates.

High of 63F today, low of 35F tonight for me.

Well below freezing in Northern PA, the freeze warning depicts that temperatures tonight could be in the mid to upper 20s in the mountains of NW and NC Pennsylvania. UHI in full swing around the city, 41F in the city and all suburban and rural surrounding areas reaching the mid to upper 30s.

Yup... my sister is going to see frost.

Coldest airmass of season and could produce record lows in some areas with 30s in September.

The below freezing air at 700mb will drop as far south as D.C and over the Atlantic.

Currently 8-10°F over Ontario/Quebec at this level.

That's one heck of a cold airmass for this time of year. Usually that freezing line is still well north of the border. Lets do this!

A high of just 57 today. There will be frost tonight with a low of 39.
Need to go to Houston next week. Bracing for it . Luckily it’s only a 1 day event.

Indianapolis just ended a 119-day streak of temperatures above 70F. This is the 8th longest streak above 70F we've ever had. The longest, BTW, is 131 days

I wouldn't say muggy or humid, but it was definitely damp overnight after all the rain. Dropped down to 64. Was nice in my room.
Today has been gorgeous. Drove for lunch and it was in the mid 70s. Had the windows down the whole time. Now up to the upper 70s. I've got the house fan at my parents' going so I have a nice breeze coming through. Also nice and sunny with just a few clouds.

The next 3 days might not break 70 at the lake which is crazy for a non-rainy day. Forecast has been saying upper 40s possible Sunday and Monday mornings and I think that's gonna hold. Gonna be more like late October/early Nov.

Water temps have plummeted. Lake was down to 75 when it was in the mid 80s just a couple weeks ago. Might rebound some but will probably stay down after this weekend.

If we dip below freezing tonight growing season will end at 130 days in length, almost certainly one of the shortest on record for my area. The past ten year average has been 194 days. The average was closer to 170 days in the late 20th century.

It was a fairly short summer out East for sure. May was cool and September looks very likely to be rather cool as well.
