I'm gonna have to put something together now. Thanks so much! Scrolling through that Western Side thread coming across some cool posts since 2015. I think there was another dedicated easrly snowy thread too. (Edit: Got it, 1st post in this thread lists the other threads)
But this has seemed to be the setup in most recent years where the Jet stream buckles in the West in Sept/Oct. Makes sense since our Early Falls here has been Summer like recently.
It's been hot and humid but no records broken here in Indy. Yesterday hit 89 but still well shy of the record of 93. Record highs the next 3 days remain 95, 93, and 94 and the hottest we're forecast to get is 90 on Thursday. Still well shy of the record. But then a major dropoff for the weekend. From 90 on Thursday to barely 70 for the high on Saturday.
Cooler air is good, the accompanying rain again in recently flooded Midwest areas is not.
If it weren't for tropical systems, we would have had no break whatsoever.
I pray a hurricane develops in the Gulf, and remains there for a month; then dies w/o making landfall.
