That moisture down south is our storm tomorrow here. But that trough down south is the player for our storm on Friday that is becoming a tricky forecast with frozen precip
Play the 500mb Loop to see what that Ridge/Trough setup does over the coming day.
Edit; I typed warm but looks like temps are currently in the 50s . Lol. Only Florida is really above normal
Looks like we're in for our first measurable snowfall of the season tonight. Could see up to an inch. Not going to be anything major but still, tomorrow morning will be the first time since April to wake up to snow on the ground. And exactly one week before our average first measurable snowfall. It will be interesting to see how this season shapes up. I feel like the last 2 or 3 years we had one early snow in mid-November and then nothing until after Christmas.
Loop last 4hrs. 7:30-11:30amCST. Wow at the snow in Oklahoma and Missouri! Temps in the 20s and 30s at lunchtime! Snow is sticking...DURING THE DAY in November.
Euro12z just came out and it disagrees with the GFS operational (left image) Ie: Cold East like GFS Ensembles show.
Speaking of Euro12z..
This map is for Thursday evening 7pm. Storm is a 1010mb over North Carolina. Interesting blob of below freezing air. More importantly, NYC south is too warm for snow with this but still early. North of NYC is interesting.
Not liking the storm track. Hope it shifts East but I need a more widespread colder airmass then shown here.
This is Friday evening. . From a 1010mb storm to a 981mb! So it strengthens along the way. Not a huge fan of that with the track because the stronger it is, the stronger the warm winds will be.
Below freezing at 5k over Philly but storm already passed so too late. Cold comes in after the storm leaves
Edit: Crap, that's the 00z run from last night. New 12z run is warmer with the storm for southern New England.
