The rain is a bonus because it helps me sleep better, and the lower light level is easier on my eyes, which have always been sensitive to bright light. If I have to live this far south, then I'm in the right location, because we often get cold-air damming and cloudy skies with easterly winds from storm systems that originate near the Gulf Coast. Speaking of which, today is excellent, with light rain all day and temperatures steady near 50°F.
I wouldn't mind a sunny climate all year but I like trees so there has to be some kind of rainy season. Here in Texas there are some 60/70 degree rainy days in the winter that I love. Mild but plenty of rain to moisten things up.

Now we're about to enter a nice period of sunny skies and temps in the upper 60's to mid 70's and lows in the 50's. Perfect weather. No A/C or heat needed.

It looks like the winter of 2017-2018 will go down in the record books as near normal in temperature overall in Indianapolis and the surrounding metro area, largely because of a torch February weather pattern that has dominated the second half of the month.

^ As warm as February has been, we still managed to get snow. It’s amazing how easily this area gets snow and snowstorms. They are talking about snow this Friday, eventhough the forecast temperatures are all above 32°F!

:::WINTER 2017-18 SUMMARY:::

Beginning of the season started with a couple of warm days but December ended up very cold and snowy with a 2 week impressive Arctic sustained blast starting on Christmas.
After January 8th the pattern changed and we never looked back.
Rest of January became more normal with ups and downs.
Pattern remained active entire winter with many storms and fronts but snow events were harder to come by.
In February the South East Ridge showed its strength and popped north as the Polar Vortex couldn't find a way to come south into Ontario or Quebec leading this ridge to pop north and give us hot temps
