NWS is ****ing stupid for us down here some times. It's currently 83 F with a 68 F dew point and they have a predicted high of 85 F , once again we will blow right past that. Wouldn't surprise me if it hits about 89 F or so today. What is it with them and under predicting our high temps? It's kind of annoying.
I think they underestimate how strong the sun is down here during spring, while also exaggerating the marine influence on the climate.
Most extreme example I've seen was back in May 2012 (or 2011). Predicted high for the day was like 83 F and it ended up hitting 92 F. Me thinks we need to fire all the forecasters in our local NWS station.

Because of their marine bias they also overestimate low temperatures, especially during the winter.
64F and overcast at noon. Doesn't feel like a thunderstorm day, but that's still in the forecast. Wednesday looks to be in the mid to upper 70s with a greater severe threat.

Neat how it goes from thick clouds to nothing in the middle of Alabama.
