I would honestly say almost all of September is late summer, maybe the last 7-10 days are early fall, IMO. I would say all of September here is summer though, and honestly the first week of October as well.

With an average high of 82 September is a solid summer month here too imo. First 4 days of September average 86/66. By September 15 the average drops to 82/62, the average high drops below 80 September 24, the average on the last day of September is 77/56. I personally consider fall weather to be during the start of october. 76-77 I consider more transitional, not summer weather but not fall weather. So September for the most part is summer, then transitional at the end of the month.

Low 80's with sunny skies and low humidity seems fall-like by Louisiana standards.

Here the average high doesn't go below 80F until October 16. It goes below 90F on September 13.

Average high doesn't go below 80 F until nearly December 1 here.....

Yet again, highs below 80 F are fairly "winter like" by South FL standards.

Start of September here usually feels summer like, and the end can too, though some years not

Miami to me seems like summer lasts until late October, similarly with Louisianna and southern Texas

Yeah September can be very summery in NYC especially, usually with 90 degree days in the first two weeks and plenty of 80 degree days. I would say September is easily a summer month in NYC

September is still a fairly humid month with average Dews in the low 60s. My average high fell below 90 august 5.

To me summer starts and ends with the first and last low at or below 65F. Thus, on average, summer lasts from May 3rd to October 27th (at MIA). This year summer started on May 9th.

That only works for places below about 32 N, in both North Carolina and Oklahoma it is uncommon to go a whole month without going below 65. Maybe a broader definition could be that it starts and ends with the first low at or below 12 F below the average low at the height of summer.
