We're in one of those patterns that you aren't sure what to focus on because there's so many interesting features or events.

Do you show the 500mb Heights?
Polar Vortex so far south?
Polar Jet stream?
Trough with cold air?
Surface storms?
Moisture?
Snow?
Winds?
Hot/Cold Temp gradient?
Prolonged clouds/moisture?
Rotating short waves around the Cut Off Low?

Here are 3 main models for Hour 168 Sunday night.

Canadian has a snowstorm for the White mountains and Northern New England Sunday night. Others not too thrilled about it.

GFS and Canadian have the 850mb freezing line going off the NY coast but this time of year that just means 30s/40s at night and 50s/60s in day. But because it's such a narrow amount of cold air its quicker to leave. But still... you don't see that happen often this time of year.

Snow map? Why not. 10:1 Ratios Canadian00z.

Jet stream buckling down in the west... this is another Omega block.. but ........

This time Ridge is in Central US.

See the Omega block this week?

Can you tell the difference from the last one?

Remember the last Omega Block?

2 weeks ago. Ridge was in West & East providing warm and dry pattern. Now it's opposite. Trough in West and East providing cool, clouds, and stormy pattern

Let me tell you about May 1, 1994: Temperatures in Pittsburgh didn't even make it to 50°F that day, and not only was the sky totally overcast, but it was also very gloomy, with a low cloud deck. The sun didn't shine at all that day. Runners in the Pittsburgh Marathon didn't have to worry about overheating, but nonetheless, it was just a raw, depressing day, and very anomalous for May. In fact, if you experienced it directly, like I did, you never would have guessed that six weeks later, temperatures in Pittsburgh would flirt with 100°F for an entire week.

Chicago is more on the edge of it but still inside the cooler side, so they'll probably swing back and forth between warmth and cool next 10 days?

11am. Its a miracle. Washington DC ends their 60 less streak at 126 hrs (5 days 6 hrs).
Should I start the new streak count for 61° or 65°? lol

Moderate rains in NY and MA. I'm escaping it. But still in the 40s outside.

30°F on the rock

Have you been to Australia? Perth is different to any other city!
Oh I would like to see Perth one day, and go to Australia too. Of course Melbourne and Syndey are on my wishlist, but I could see Perth too
