That would depend on how much rain we get within the next several weeks. Usually transition summers to La Nina are more drought prone. Although 2010 is thought to be an analog year.

Extreme dew points July 2010

The deadly heatwave of 1995 had very high dew points because Iowa and Missouri were swamped with rains.

Here is an analysis of that heat wave. Just look at how much real estate in the Midwest had over 80F dew points

Wunderground was calling for around 3.5 inches of rain for today earlier. We only ended up with 0.14 inches so far, lol.

Yep.

Here's a map of rainfall accumulation over the past 24 hours.

The past week (I'm in the dark blue on the map below).

We could still get some heavy rain on Sunday and Monday, but it looks like the predicted totals have been lowered.

Only made it to the low 60s today, but temps will continue to hover there overnight with clouds and rain. Warmer tomorrow with a high of 78F, and hopefully thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.

And FYI ... Payback for 9 straight days of sun and dry weather? Rain and clouds all week

I told you... "We need rain"...."Enough with the rains". We say those things often!!
Drought is the biggest hyped up pointless thing to worry about in our region.

Hartford's forecast. Ugh

NAO is negative recent days which makes sense since we have the blocking over Greenland and the trough in the Northeast but about to go neutral now meanwhile PNA about to go negative which means a Trough in the West which means East could be warming up by mid May.
