This is very fake. AZ did get snow, but it was NOT on South Mountain, which never sees snow even during the coldest of winter storms.

Flagstaff, AZ is expected to get about 6" of snow tomorrow though. They get more snow than most of the midwest and places like Buffalo NY.

Well, the mountains near Palm Springs are not in Palm Springs. Palm Springs is down in the Coachella Valley. There is an aerial tram that goes from the valley up almost 6000 feet to the top of Mt. San Jacinto. It takes 10 minutes, and by the time you get up there, you are in a totally different climate zone. I've gotten on that tram when it was 110F in Palm Springs, and it was 65 at the top of the mountain. It is not at all unusual for snow to fall on those mountains; in fact it is totally normal and expected in the winter.

Palm Springs itself typically does NOT get snow. That would be very, very rare.

Normally "dry" places in rain shadow areas can get their roles reversed when arctic outflow brings easterly winds.

Sequim, WA.
