This plant is pittosporum tobira, its flowers are extremely fragrant.
In my city they are planted everywhere, especially on the seaside because they stand well saltiness and sand. My garden is full of these plants growing as weeds from seeds.
Haha lol, I was in Cannes at the time of the 1995 film festival. I was a kid and I went to the nearby bakery to get some breakfast bread for us. The cashier said "sankfran'" violently and quickly like a 100 times, I didn't speak a word of French at the time and was puzzled. Finally she got it that I'm just a tourist and showed 'five' with her hand, and I handed her the money. The next days we just exchanged smiles and did the transaction, because I never bought anything but bread, except for once when I bought chewing gum. I think it was 5 franc as well.
I don't think you get a bread for sankfran' anymore.
