First 70F+ low of the year this morning

Looked at the year to date precipitation totals. Port Salerno 5W near my house at 15.57 inches while downtown Stuart 5 miles away only has 5.64.

cold rain, at least it's not freezing but barely above freezing. Some snow is getting washed off.

Upper 50s? Lucky; we'll be lucky to get one day of 55+ this coming week in PA :P On a side note, it's amazing how Minnesota and the Dakotas have lost their snowpack faster than PA this winter

March so far has been wet and cloudy here. 9 days have had precip of at least 0.01 inches and the month to date precip at the airport is 4.70 inches. It's also been cooler than normal.

This was the first day that hasn't been mostly cloudy in a while. Also the temperature got up to 76F. Next week it looks like it will reach 80F for the first time this year. Rain and thunderstorms in the forecast by mid-week.

I'm in south-central WI:

31 of the last 34 days were ice days up through March 6th, when there was 6" of snow on the ground (15cm). March 7th had a high of 45 (7C), the warmest since December, and we are now on pace to have 8 days above 50, with a forecast of 71 (21.7C) on the 16th.

At least where I am, the snowpack melted so fast because it was thin. We got about 8" of snow (20cm) in the first 3 days of February, getting the snow depth up to 9". Then only 0.19" (5mm) from February 4th through today (March 14), no precipitation forecast for the coming week either. On the good side we only had a trace of rain the last 6 weeks, so no cold rain, and the thaw was as quick as it could be, so the muddy, wet time of the year is minimal.

It got up to 68F/20C yesterday, some people were ice fishing while other people were walking in t-shirts and shorts! The snow is almost all gone but the lakes are still frozen solid.

Yeah seems as of the Northeast took the brunt of winter this year

ORD was at 59F/15C in the last hour and MDW is at 61F/16C right now. Northerly Island near the Loop (downtown Chicago) is only at 41F/5C
