I was in shorts the whole day this weekend. Highs in the upper 50's made it very uncomfortable for me to wear pants. I tried to wear jeans, but the sudden warmth after a deep freeze made my balls sweat in them.

There Is a guy in my class from Duluth, Minnesota. He always wears shorts, even in the winter. He says winter in NJ = spring in Duluth. Cant imagine how cold their winters might be, but I bet its awesome.

I only wear shorts when I'm doing sports, or swimming.

I just wear jeans, whether it's -5ºC or close to 40ºC
Actually jeans are usually more comfortable in -5C (denim) or 40C (linen) unless doing physical activity. For -5C the jeans protect against the cold wind, in 40C they protect against the strong sun.

For -5C, sweats are the most comfortable for exercise (on the legs). For 40C, quick dry shorts are most comfortable for exercise and mobility.

Here in our climate, everyone starts wearing shorts when it reaches 55F/13C.
In the fall I sometimes stretch it out a bit into October and wear shorts into the high 40s/8-10C.

Anyone wore shorts when it was below freezing as part of a dare or just for fun.

I think it was -5 °C but I was joking with my friends and I didn't stay outside for long.
Lowest temperature I ACTUALLY worn shorts was around 6 °C, because I usually wear long pants even when there is a temperature I find warm/hot, because I like long pants better. (I find 6 °C cool, not warm/hot though, sorry, it sounded like that).
