the hottest part of the day was around 1 pm or so, the temp reached 97 with a 117 heat index, than some scattered showers brought the temp down to 83

Wink cold, almost too cold

Had a pleasant high of 72 F with clear skies, but those same clear skies let us radiate too fast as the sun went down.
It's like 58 F outside at 8:45 pm.
Isn't August supposed to be summer?
In theory it still is summer in Canada, but I'm pretending it's fall, so I can lie to myself that I'm experiencing warm fall weather; makes me feel better.

Our low will probably bottom out around 50 F, give or take.
Brrr...
