Is living in snow and really cold weather that bad? That's one thing I've never been exposed to in my life and don't really know how I'd fare. It really would be fun to try, but I'm really not sure which is worse, Texas heat or really icy winters. Maybe in a way, they tie; I just don't know. I know I'd definitely like to live in a place that received snow, but I'm not quite sure about as much as the SD receives. I've been to WI in February and it was cold, but it didn't seem all that bad, at least not for the 5 days I was there.
I was in Calgary, Canada for a week in January about 4 years ago. The temp was -35. It was so cold that you had to put on four layers to stay warm. Thankfully, the wind didn't blow a whole lot. Brrrr.. THAT kind of cold I don't ever want to deal with again.

That might be a bit too cold. I was thinking more like in the teens for weeks on end and could I handle that. My ex is from MN and he said it wasn't really all that cold in -40 degrees IF the wind wasn't blowing. He was a youngster then, so he probably didn't notice it like an old lady would.
