I think I jinxed you. I noticed that OKC and the surrounding area was having some pretty bad thunderstorms and torrents of rain this morning. We've been talking about taking a trip to that area next autumn because we'd like to see Myriad Gardens, Bricktown, the zoo, etc. You've probably already read this, but I'm a weather jinx. All I have to do is look for an area for vacation and they have problems.

Jammie, Rain in Oklahoma is (almost) never a jinx! Makes everything green and beautiful. It has been raining most of the day here and more is on the way! Whoo Hoo!
And despite predictions of 80-90F temps it is still a yummy 70F
Right now Siberia sounds pretty good! Wow heat index of 112 is worse than what we had today, I think the highest was 95 around 3pm.
Siberia is not all Artic, plus it's the northern hemisphere summer..
I think I saw on a map somewhere that Siberia includes most of central and eastern Russia; probably parts of it are in the 40th latitudes meaning you can expect weather similar to the Canadian Prairies; daytime highs anywhere from say 48 to 98 F easy, even 108 F is my guess.
Why not somewhere in the southern hemisphere, like the South Island of New Zealand? You probably won't get any highs above 60 F, plus will probably see a few frosts even near sea level. Go up into the mountains and you probably can easily find sub-zero F weather.

Does Oklahoma ever get so much rain you get a lot of flooding, grow tons of molds, rots, fungii and see whole neighbourhoods with foot-high grass
(too wet to cut everyday for several weeks) and every lawn has mushrooms growing in them?
Sometimes we get that much rain and it's not that fun.
Fortunately, I can't clearly remember how many years ago that was.

We get some of those things you listed but usually not foot high grass. The sun comes out almost every day, so it usually dries out quickly.

that would be correct. there's this one town called Verkhoyansk that the record low is -90F and the record high is 108F, talk about extreme it's actually not arctic it's subarctic, has a similar climate to the interior of Alaska but a lot more extreme
