Move to Alice Springs or Darwin. Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise and Perth are the places I would move, but they're probably not hot enough for you.

SAB, how far do you live from Melbourne? Would it be possible for you to relocate there?

Isn't he IN Melbourne? Like some suburb? If he moved to downtown Melbourne, he's been saying it gets cooler there because he's farther inland.

Yep I am IN Melbourne, in a suburb 40km from the downtown. Here's a map, the red spot is where I live and the blue spot is Downtown Melbourne.

Agreed. Me personally I plan on moving to a much colder climate (North Dakota in fact). People tell me that if it's that cold (below zero), you will be inside and not outside. My answer is, true I'll be just like the people who live in Phoenix during the middle of summer - sitting in their air-conditioned house looking out.

Yep, I'm a fan of cold weather too. But for me to get really excited, I need below zero - substantially below zero. When it gets to -20, now were talkin'. Unfortunately, the Chicago area where I live rarely touches -20.

I don't know why I like this kind of weather, but I've been that way ever since I was little. Always been a fan of extreme weather, except for heat and humidity.

HighPlains, there's nothing wrong with preferring cold weather. As you know, I love the hot and humid weather and despise the cold so it's just personal preference, I guess. I'm sure that No. Dak. has a spot for you and would welcome you. It's not for me cause it gets even colder up there then in So. Dak.

SAB, I didn't realize that you live in a suburb of Melbourne. Didn't you say that Melbourne is much warmer? Is it a huge area and some parts are warmer then others?

But back on topic. It is 1 degree ABOVE zero this morning. The windchill is -16, but that's better then it has been recently. We have a decent warm up on the way. In the very near future our daytime highs will be reaching freezing.

Hi- what do you do when that really cold comes in? Do you have your car plugged in so you can run errands? Do you spend a lot of time at home instead of going to a mall or anything? I'm sorry if I sound clueless, I'm just curious.

Philly Burbs, sunny 28 degrees.
