Midway's mean is 51.6F/10.9C ORD's is 49.8F/9.9C. Northerly Island on the lakefront in downtown Chicago has a mean of 51.9F/11.1C. Chicago University has a mean of 52.6F/11.4C
Here in the far south suburbs of Chicago our station has an annual mean of 51.0F/10.9C. We have higher average max temps but lower average min temps compared with the city stations.
I guess ORD is a frost hollow compared with other stations. It's minimums are low more reflective more of the northwest suburbs

13-14 C in Ioannina Greece (the place that I study at university) and 15 C in Serres Greece my hometown. Both cities have cold winters and hot summers (but Ioannina has cool summer nights in addition to Serres).
Here is a list of a few of the places that have average temperatures below that of ANNETTE, Alaska (46.6F/81C).
JESS VALLEY, CA

PORTLAND, ME
FULTON, NY
VALLEY FALLS, OR
BROOKFIELD, WI
MADISON, WI
CHEYENNE, WY
TORONTO, ONT
ALTURAS, CA
CONCORD, NH
KLAMATH FALLS, OR
OSHKOSH, WI
FLAGSTAFF, AZ
EUREKA, MT

EUREKA, NV
SPOKANE, WA

Wow you guys suck in New York, California, Oregon, South Dakota, etc. because you're colder than Alaska!
Interesting. I assume Chicago/ORD's minimums in the winter are colder than Windsor, which is why the annual means are the same. ORD's summers averages are warmer

You take Toronto off the list...average annual temperature is 9.4c (Annex Weather station 1981-2010)
even Toronto Airport (Lester B Pearson Int'l AP) average annual temp is now 8.5c
Hamilton also....downtown Hamilton average annual temperature is 9.3c (using 1981-2010 normals),
Hamilton Airport much cooler...but it's located up on the "mountain", Mt. Hope (not actually in city).

Windsor airport is 9.9c but there is another weather station right in the city
by the Detroit River ...I think it's called the Riverside Weather Station,
average annual temp would be slightly over 10c there (might not have 1981-2010 data )
Other than that, Amherstburg (about 25 km south of Windsor) takes the Ontario crown at 10.1c
