La Nada winters here usually mean more snow then normal. Temperature departure would depend on negative/positive AO

My gut says it may be a disappointing winter. More on the mild side...not as extreme as 2011-2012, but perhaps similar. I will happily eat crow on this one though.

I don't know about that. I think these ENSO neutral winters tend to be a mix of cold and stormy and mild on and off. The kind I don't like cause temps fluctuate more than usual. Overall it may end up with seasonal temps but high std deviation.

Well here in Colorado, people think it will be a bad winter temp and snowfall wise. But I believe it has to be one or the other. Either bad snow or low temps. I usually don't see the both together. While our summer wasn't record breaking, it took alot longer for us to see nights in the 40s than usual. So, I've seen the models, but I believe the pattern shows more snow than usual, but before those "stats", my gut feeling kept saying it was going to be a cold winter. Let's see who's right? So, I say very cold temps more consistent, but still a bit above average snow, nothing newsworthy. Temps will be though.

40 F and rainy is colder than 10 F and sunny with light wind. It may be 30 degrees F warmer but it feels waaaaaaaaaaay colder regardless. 10 F and sunny with very little wind is almost comfortable for me. 40 F and rainy...
