The hellmann score is the total amount of frost a location gets in a winter season. Every day with an avergage temp below 0,0 C adds to the score. For example: a day with an avg temp of -1,5 adds 1,5 points to the score.

Maybe the hellmann score is unknown in Finland or other countries.

I'd never heard of it, though it seems to make sense for climates like ours. My location is also stuck on 0.0.

My hellman score is 6.8 then, adding up all the numbers below freezing.

I googled hellmann score and this thread is the first result. Interesting idea, though. Calculating the score for January here would take me too long, let alone the winter season so far.
