113* F...( in the shade) while I was roofing a house in La Grange, Texas. Late 1990's or early 2000's.

-38* below zero F.... while I was living high in the mountains of Colorado and I hitchiked 42 miles to work that day. My jeep would not start. Middle 1970's.

Hottest: 47C in Melbourne, Feb 2009

Coldest: About -6 or -7C when I was in Hungary in Jan 2000. Went back there for 3 weeks in Jan 2012 and I don't think it dropped below -4C!

I find it incredible that Melbourne gets such extreme summer temperatures especially when looking at the average highs which is only 26C in Jan and Feb, and just 24C in December....

Yeah but suburbs closer to me were closer to 47C. I live in the SE suburbs. Avalon Airport, about halfway between Geelong and Melbourne hit 47.9C. That day recorded only about 8 hours of sunshine out of a possible 13, as the afternoon began to cloud up. Had the skies been clear all day, I reckon 48-49C would've been widespread throughout the metro area.

The rest of the month was extremely mediocre, aside from that one day, it was one of the crappier Februaries in recent history. The average highs are severely skewed by that one extreme day. For example, this year's Feb recorded a higher average high, but the highest temp was just 37.2C

I'm not sure where I've experienced the hottest temperature. It could have been during on one of my annual trips down to Vancouver driving through the community of Lytton that often exceeds 40 C (104 F), but for sure I was living in Kamloops, BC, on July 23rd, 1996, when the temperature was 40.4 C.

The coldest would be November 27, 1985, when the temperature dipped to - 46.5 degrees C (-51.7 F) where I grew up in the central part of British Columbia (~ 52 degrees N).

Both of them in Saskatoon. Not sure about the exact humidex and windchill extremes I've experienced, but the highest humidex was definitely over 40°C / 104°F, and lowest windchill under -50°C / -58°F.
What did -45c feel like?
