Lol, your dream climate has average winter temperature almost as cold as coldest temperature that you've experienced?! I enjoy cold winters, but I have a limit. -9.9C is the coldest on average month which I've experienced so I prefer winters to have average temperature not colder -10C.

Highest temperature: 38°C/100°F in August 1992
Lowest temperature: -17°C/2°F in January 1997

Both experienced here in my hometown in Northern Germany- and the -17°C day was more comfortable than the 38°C day, it felt like someone has opened an oven door.

yes, that's right... It might seem a little bit stupid, but I actually loved those -19°C and I wouldn't mind having those temperatures for weeks (however only with enough snowfall). I just love the cold. Besides, there are some other reasons, why I'd like to have those temperatures in my dream climate... the visual impact those temperatures have on the surrounding would be an important point as well as the general need of temperatures that far below freezing in order to escape winter thaw... of course I could also "prefer" avg highs of -5°C with record highs being only little above freezing, either, but that would either be very maritime (which I not necessarily prefer) or pretty unrealistic... Nonetheless record highs are actually more important to me than winter averages... As long as snowfall is good and record highs are at least under 5°C (of course a low probability of thaw has to be given, too) I'll rate any averages between -5°C and -20°C A+. Btw: I've actually changed my dream climate recently and winter averages are now definetely warmer than before... the highs are still pretty much the same (around -10°C), but the lows are now between -15°C and -18°C since I actually realized that I didn't really need those -25°C average lows... Nonetheless record lows are still frigid.
