I pick Nairobi for being cooler year-round.

Nairobi is an easy A for me, Rio more of a C for me. Just too warm, too humid, doesn't cool off enough at night.

Rio's lovely, an A tropical climate even though I prefer more seasonality. That being said Nairobi is really nice as well... hard for me to rate it lower than an A, maybe B+ at worst, either!

I prefer Rio, but it's merely the choice between a perfect summer year round and a perfect spring year round.

The world is so full of so many A-grade climates for my tastes. Wish some of them were in Canada.

My source gives rainfall as 745mm and sunshine 2412 hours. A preference for Nairobi on both grounds, purely climatically. As cities, Rio.

Didn't need to re-look at the stats, Nairobi is much more moderate and temperate.
I'd imagine record highs in Nairobi would barely go above 32C (90F), if at all.
For an equatorial location it has some strange seasonal variation, and 2 distinct wet seasons.
Rio would be great for a holiday, but can get hot at any time of the year - every month has exceeded the old Farenheit Century.
The fact that the 2016 Summer Olympics are in Rio's winter - August - tells the story.

Rio for sure. Nairobi's nights look a little too cool.

I pick Rio but it's still cooler than I would like. avg high of only 85f in the summer doesn't thrill me.
