Colder than early June 1975 when you had lying snow? Only four days of sub-20C highs and sub-10C lows forecast for here, nothing remarkable.
He was referring to night-time temperatures, I believe. The 1959-present record low for the month of June in Buxton is -0.4C. Many model runs have them below that figure, but I bet the high temperatures will be warmer than 1975, as well as probably being a radiational cooling night as opposed to featuring snow.

Yes, much colder than that, what everyone forgets is that within 3 days of that snow the temperature was well up into the 20's across England, and a notable heatwave developed shortly thereafter. This year there is no evidence of anything like that in the first two weeks of June. Also it can even snow at temperatures of 6-8°C, earlier this month it was snowing while 7°C outside so I wouldn't be shocked if it snows again this "june".
Even the more recent Junes of 1995 and 2001 were terribly cold during their first halves, far more so than 1975, so we could be on par with those at this rate.
GFS likes to overdo temperatures at night and undercook them during the day so take it with a pinch of salt for now..
^^ I forget sometimes what a difference a couple of hundred miles north/south can make once we get into summer 78F here today and it's felt like midsummer for at least a week.
Only reached 71F today.. it was a sunny start but became cloudy. We reached 81F last week though, and the temperatures have been above 20C continuously since the 22nd with almost constant sunshine - sunshine totals for the month at 210 hours.

Sounds like good sunshine levels, and most probably higher than ours, since the first two weeks of May was like living under a wet, grey blanket here.
Looks like we are going below normal as well. I don't mind. I'm sick of the 90 degree temps already. I don't like extremes.
A high temp of 70F in June is pretty rare here.

According to BBC Weather - 12°C max temperature with rain in LONDON on SUNDAY for the glorious Diamond Jubilee!
Hang on, just realised an error in this whole Jubilee thing. They got it wrong, it's meant to be next year. The coronation was in 1953 so she's only done 59 years! What a mistake.
