Average for this fall was 53.9°F. Record 54.2°F, Normal 50.8°F. Came close. 1990 and 1931 were slightly warmer, don't how many others were.
All 3 months were above average, October by about 1°F, the rest by about 4°F or so. While the warmth was unusual but unprecedented the snowstorm at the end of October was unprecedented. The last major October snowstorm in New England was in 1804, and this year's was probably larger (though that was in early October).
