He said he haven't been to Canada, so he can't included those place. And also that there are other places he hasn't been to -- Not that he's never been to the cities he listed.

No, I mean that I personally haven't been to most of the cities everyone is listing. I'm just wondering why each person is listing those cities.

So if you make a list, please tell me why you listed those cities in the top five. I plan to move to Seattle in the next year and will certainly be interested in side trips once I'm there. I'd like to see some of these cities, but I want to know why you all like them so much.

Thanks!

Oh, I apologize then!

I like mountains and the fresh air. I like water. I like quaint feel of areas. I like the isolated/removed feel. And they're all close to skiing areas.

Thanks! :-)

I re-read my original post and realized how it could be confusing. Not intentional!

I've had two good friends who grew up in Kelowna, but I've never had the chance to go there. Would love to some day.

Why? Can't really say. I guess I'm just "drawn" to them. I can say that they are all "smaller" communities that are far enough away from a major metropolitan area where they have to provide their own character. (Unlike urban sprawl)

I like artsy, friendly hippieish towns with beautiful scenery, so that's why I picked my choices ( except for Burien). Burien I like because it's just not what anybody expects. It's evolving from boring working class suburb to fun, multiethnic ,artsy place with some great restaurants and views.

Bellingham, WA - Perfect place to live with one exception - constant rainy Pacific NW weather. If you like that, this is the town for you! It's a smallish University town. Right on the ocean, beautiful Bellingham Bay. Hiking, Sailing, Lakes everywhere, gorgeous parks, liberal population. Hour north of Seattle, hour south of Vancouver BC. Perfect place. Would still live there if there were MORE JOBS.... ;( I will always miss it!
La Connor, WA - beautiful, artsy community. Nice little downtown.
White Rock, BC - Gorgeous, close to Vancouver. Close to US border.
