Due to popular demand on this thread https://www.city-data.com/forum/washi...ton-state.html I'm going to include all the major city metros in this poll.

So, what is your favorite metro area in Washington state?

I always consider them as separate. I think Everett is on its own too.

For those who vote: how many of the areas have you lived in or spent a lot of time in? If I lived in and loved Vancouver but rarely went to Seattle and had never been to Spokane, how could I compare them?

I have lived in Tacoma, Gig Harbor (frequently visiting other peninsula cities), Portland, Vancouver, Beaverton, Longview, Olympia, and Lacey. I didn't pick any of the areas I lived in. I picked Spokane because of the climate, big city/small town feel, friendliness, and cost of living.

It's a metropolitan division.

The one without any stoplights! That is metro enough for me.

No Walla Walla - Ellensburg -- Cheney ? (all significant college towns and METRO for the eastside)

Are you considering moving there? Anybody that has anything nice to say about it should!

I lived in Spokane for 5 months (tons of travel throughout the state/region during this time), and stayed in Everett for 10 summers as a boy (also a heap of time in Bellingham and Seattle).

I choose Spokane.

You read my mind . You've probably seen me inquiring on other threads trying to figure out where to move. I've actually narrowed it down to Spokane, Coeur D'Alene, and Missoula.

But Spokane seems to have everything I'm looking for. It's also not too far away from family. A few years ago I actually had an interview there with a company...I got the job, but my family didn't want me to move that far away, even though it's only about 5 hours. But I've had it over here on the west side and I'm ready for a change whether they like it or not.

Why were you only there 5 months?
