We've had a beautiful winter day in Vancouver with the sun lighting up the freshly fallen snow. The winds have been strong and its chilly out. Winds forecasted to die down by tonight into tomorrow with more sun to follow.

Super clear tonight and the wind has also died. The moon and stars are bright in the night sky.

What are those two bright stars? We saw them here too!

Assuming they are planets! On edit, I see from other posts on the Internet, that they are Jupiter and Venus!

We still have a bit of snow from Wednesday on one of the cars that stays in the shade, but it's a beautiful clear, sunny day today here. It's very deceiving, though, looking warm but only 36. It's much warmer than when I got up this morning when it was just 15, but there are still some icicles and frozen puddles that haven't melted.

Cold and clear north of Seattle as well. More snow is predicted this weekend.

Awesome planet pics Derek.

There is still some snow scattered around our place today.
Today seems colder than the last few days, I think it’s because the sky is clear.

Today was sunny and in the 30s with mild winds. I decided to go for a paddle after work at my of my favorite lakes. The waterfalls flowing into the lake are partially frozen with huge icicles. Some of them were crashing in the water as they thawed. It was fun out there on such a beautiful days with no crowds.

Oh my word.
You sir are tough.
I thought I was brave picking and eating oysters off the beach today.
Nope, I am unworthy

Andy, you are certainly worthy. lol

Honestly, it's more about wearing the right cold weather gear similar to other winter sports. I wasn't really very cold at all out there. But it sure keeps the crowds down after a good snow. haha

Today was a beautiful winter day on the Columbia. Gotta love sunny, snowy days with no wind. It was perfect for enjoying the a winter paddle. I also got to do some ice breaking on part of the river that had frozen over in harbor. I've been wanting to that ever since seeing those ice breaking ships in the artic.
