I'm considering relocating for a potential opportunity in Bethesda. I really like Dupont Circle, because of its walkability and the fact that its close to the metro. Does anyone commute from Dupont to Bethesda? How reliable and frequent are the buses at the Bethesda Metro stop as well as the Medical Center Stop?

I think the train ride from Dupont to Bethesda is about 15-20 minutes, of course that varies depending on the wait time for the train and possible delays. As for the buses the J1, J2 and J3 all serve Medical Center and Bethesda station and run pretty often (10 minutes peak 20-30 minutes off peak). There are other bus routes that serve the Bethesda area but I don't really know how reliable they are.

During the morning commute, red line trains are closer than five minutes apart. Once you're on the train, it's almost exactly fifteen minutes between stations. The Bethesda station is a bus hub, so it's probably one of the easiest places in Maryland to connect from train to bus.
