Which of these two suburbs do you think is a better overall place to live. Where would you chose to live if given the choice between these two?

This isn't even remotely close. Bowie.

Absent of public transit Bowie may be top 3 suburb IMO to the entire metro area.

Bowie for sure.

Better restaurants
Shopping options (Bowie Town Center, close to Annapolis Mall and Arundel Mills).
Transit/transportation options (MARC train, New Carrollton metro close by, BWI airport)
Closer to DC and much closer to Baltimore

Lived in Waldorf for a few months and seems so country and far away from everything, plus traffic was always terrible even on weekends....could never live there again.

Waldorf is closer to the best Restaurants that DC and NH have to offer add in better access to all N.Virginia has to offer.
As for "being more country" ,......................good stay away it's why people like it,add in the schools are better and as for traffic yes it's bad but no worse than every single day in Bowie .
Honestly think both are pretty much the same.

It's kind of difficult to make a straight line comparison. Bowie is incorporated so the level of services as well as local control over various things like police services and zoning is greater than Waldorf which started out as a wide spot in the road.

As mentioned, Waldorf is also, on purpose, more suburban/rural than Bowie. Which makes sense since until relatively recently it was centered on agriculture.

It was only with the development of St. Charles beginning in 1965 that Waldorf began to be "a thing". As a note, St. Charles is only half built out.

Many people still like the country style of living that does not exists in Bowie and while Waldorf is getting built up you can still drive a few miles to other parts of Charles county where people can still have some space.

To be fair Bowie is right on the edge of Davidsonville, which is semi-rural.
