Watching current OBS.. check it out guys...

WPC placed the low over Tennessee at 8am but the actual low was still over Northeast Alabama. That means a bit slower and south more. If it continues the path that means colder for you guys and maybe more moisture. Hmmm. More rain for me here.

Hmm...we were downgraded to an advisory, looks like our current forecast is showing 3-5" with a bit of sleet mixed in. We were in the low 40s all day today...mud season on it's way!

Wow! From 10-14" to 2-4" in those areas! yeah, I saw the Euro today and it was warm.. Basically cold enough all day today until the precip pushes in. That pushes in the warmth too and it just doesn't get cold enough to support snow everywhere.

Here's NWS Burlington Snow total forecast yesterday 4am vs now. I seen this happen a lot this winter.

Current Radar and 850mb temps while Storm is near West Virginia. See the darker blue shading from central VT northward? That indicates below freezing at 4000 feet. Light blue is above freezing. Basically the warmer temps aloft are pushing in which will squash the snow chances.

I'm not liking the thought of moving furniture in mud season.

Maybe if I head up at the end of this week, I'll miss it.

Oh, and Good point on the mud coming. I did some light hiking in NorthWest CT where there was still 3-7" of snow in spots and ice on trails, guess this means muddy trails after this weekend.. You guys should start a thread on hiking in VT. I might venture to southern VT this spring to do one.

It's settled. I'm leaving for VT in two days.

If we get a lot of rain tonight, not sure if coming up in two days will save you from the mud. Our road was already looking pretty haggard this afternoon...I'm afraid to see what it will be like tomorrow!

Now that it's a mess out there, I'd rather just have it continue to melt instead of going back and forth. Forecast is showing low 40s for the coming week, and freezing nights - good for maple syrup! So maybe spring is finally on it's way.

Great pics Cambium. Hope you were wearing spikes on that ice!

Even if I can't avoid it, I might as well get it done sooner than later. I'm looking forward to being back in Vermont. I may stay a few weeks. I've never had the maple syrup. I might treat myself to a bottle to bring back home.

Water in the basement. Not from the rain but from the snow melt. We have more water now than we did during Irene.
