Man you guys are lucky. I even saw some 40s pop up in northern VT this morning.

I'm still walking outside into a soup bowl. Disgusting how tropical its been. So muggy!

29 days in a row dewpoints have hit 70° or more.

The cold front was not only weak but it dissolved north of us.
While it wasnt in the 90s the humidity made it feel like the tropics.

Just got back from supermarket and I swear it felt like you walked out of a supermarket in the Bahamas. Pure mugginess. No air. Very oppressive and drizzling

Thursday things change.

Muggy and raining here today too, though thankfully not as hot as it has been...I've only been gone a year but I have not forgotten NYC summers - hated them with a passion - ugh, that humidity!

Things looking ok moving forward.

NAO going Negative.
Bermuda High retreating (although bad for Tropical storms)
Troughs showing up in the East
Dewpoints lowering

Here's GFS for Thursday morning

I think we're done with the big heat waves for this year

From Gray Maine:

"Tonight's lows are forecast to be in the 40s and 50s. The last time Portland saw a low in the 50s was on July 13."

Today's weather was the kind I would expect after Labor Day. Where I was working in Jay the temps were in the 60s with a steady breeze and a solid overcast. It even produced that melancholy feeling (for me at least) that summer is over. Weird July day.
