I noticed Rt7 goes from a two lane highway to a 4 lane split, then back to a two lane road. What kind of traffic does Rt7 see in Wallingford, and Pittsford? Why does it open up south of Rutland, and shrink back down to a small road going into Pittsford.

The part in Rutland through Clarendon gets heavy traffic, especially near 103. It thins out a bit towards Wallingford (speed limit is 30 through Wallingford, BTW).

Heavy traffic being a relative term. Traffic in that spot is heavy for a rural state. Rutland's "rush hour" doesn't compare to non-rush-hour in higher population areas.

Any idea what "road improvements" are going to be made to Rt7 in Pittsford?

With all the construction going on past Pittsford and into Brandon, we thought for sure they were going to open it up to four lanes in some parts to allow passing. It looks like that is no longer in the plan though. It's unfortunate, because a lot of accidents happen in that stretch. People get stuck behind 18-wheelers or slow drivers and try to pass, so it was my hope that they would create more passing lanes.

Oh, no. I hoped that's what would happen, too. So what will the changes be?

I remember when that Super 7 corridor opened up. Starts just N of Bennington and goes right through Manchester. I never see much in the way of traffic at all, I wonder the same as you
