So here is the next skyline...see what you make of this one! One hint...not North or South America.

Not in Turkey. The spire you see in this image is unusual, I'll give you that. The city in which it is located is on the smallish side. It's found on a river. Although the city is small in stature, it has played a significant role in history.

That photo is quite the find. Wish it were a little larger as I'd like to see the street paver/sidewalk detail for a better clue. Other than the tower, it looks remarkably like Verona (not that it couldn't be a dozen other Italian cities).

Is the tower part of a church, and if so, do you know (and would you say) the demonination? It is indeed unusual.

Once you find out the city, you'll be able to flickr or google image all sorts and sizes of photos of this city. I'll tell you that it is not in Italy.
As to the denomination - I do know the answer to that one! However, one must not be too specific, or it might give the answer away. Suffice it say this church does play a crucial part in the birth of the denomination...
I was here about two years ago, and thoroughly soaked up the spirit of the place.

Likewise, a few years after Germany was reunited (1997). The city was spared during the bombing of WWII, unlike Dresden to the southeast. Significant to Protestants, and especially to Lutherans.

Wittenberg (an der Elbe), Germany.

This one shares something in common with the previous city. This stark, dreary picture is not quite reperesentative of this city, at least not the two times I've been here, but then the temperatures were much more pleasant.

Right you are SluggoF16, good job! One project that ought to garner attention is the Lutherwald, or forest park just outside the old city district, which will commemorate the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Our Church planted a mountain ash, a joyous little festivity during a conference there.
