Ok, no it isn't a district of Sydney, but in fact is a downtown area of a smaller city. As a "new" clue, a beach would be visible had I not cropped it out on the left side of the photo.
And no the name that's visible on the photo isn't where this image is. It was the city that I initially typed in, but then I moved elsewhere in the continent to get this photo.

No, but its one of the ten largest cities in Australia and is located on the Pacific Ocean side.
