I lived there for work for about six months.

My company helped with my visa. I lived in Kent, not far from Dover and had a flat and a car. Make sure, if you aren't in a city and need a car, that you get someone to drive with you for a while. My company supplied a driving instructor to drive around with me for about a half day. WELL WORTH IT!

Especially as in most European cars there is a funny lever in the centre of the floor that you have to move regularly to make the car change speed.

And another pedal to make the lever work.

I've always driven a stick, so that wasn't a huge deal. It was which side of the road I had to be on on the country lanes.

Usually in the middle, behind a tractor doing 5mph. Nice views though
