I'm going to be in the UK for 3 weeks in April 2011 and as I am self employed I need to be connected to the internet 24/7. I am staying with my 90 year old mother in law so there is no point in signing up for a BT contract for 18 months for instance (she has trouble even using the phone LOL). Dial up is also out of the question due to the nature of my work. Does anyone have any idea on how or where to sign up for a short term internet access contract? BT wants 12 months minimum, I don't mind paying for 2 or three months in order to get quality service for my 3 weeks but I am stumped as to where to go.

I've done every search I can think of and come up empty. I can't work from a library etc because of the times zones I work with.

Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanx

Have a look at www.bethere.co.uk they do 3 month contracts.

There are also lots of mobile phone network based deals around from 3, Orange, Vodafone and O2. You can get pay as you go versions of them but make sure you know how good the coverage is. It can be terrible even in cities and they often have much stricter download limits that cost a fortune if you go over them.

I believe you can't sign a contract if you're less than 3 months in the UK. The only option for you is pay-as-you-go. I bought a dongle at 3, cost me 20 pounds and I got 1 Gb free of charge. Bandwidth is 1Gb=10gbp, 3Gb=15gbp and 7Gb=25gbp and lasts for 30 days. Coverage and speed are good. You can buy mobile internet at any phone or computer shop.
