My claim has been approved and I have already received 2 checks. First check was for the week of 3/27 second check 4/11. My payment for the week 4/4 is showing pending resolution separation pay.

I had 3 days of PTO which is vacation pay not separation or severance pay. I filled out the weekly certification stating vacation filled in the answer correctly. Vacation pay does not count as earnings for that week. I certified for that week on 4/5. Would NC UI be contacting my employer to check to see if this was truly vacation pay and if that be the case how long would this take to resolve?

I asked for this PTO back in January and at this point I am not only out the small weekly benefit I am also out the Federal $600 for that week.

Any ideas?

You were responded to on your exact same question previously. That hasn’t changed.

Thanks for responding but there are two different answers in that thread. I'll keep up with the website but from what I see my 3 days PTO is not ongoing it's a one shot deal. Vacation is money accrued not earned in that week or so I thought.

The entire website and weekly certification is very vague.

The entire website and weekly certification is very vague.
It created a potential “return to work” situation that now must be adjudicated.

Right. And NC must determine your eligibility for that week. It’s the second worst state in the nation when it comes to expediency of UI benefits.

I know you have others in dire need of help here and I appreciate what you do. One last question and this is from NC UI website.

What does:

Impact determined based upon existence of employer written policy prior to claim filing.

All I know is I had 3 days vacation coming I asked in January before our hours were cut they agreed that's all I know.

You’re going to be eligible for that week, provided the three days don’t exceed your WBA. It’s just going to take NC 17-21 days to release that.

If they consider the vacation pay in the equation considering the number of hours times rate of pay less my weekly allowance I can make I exceed my weekly benefit by $2.85. LOL.
