Hi everyone, I VERY much appreciate any help anyone can provide...

My husband's last claim period ended 6/22/2013. As of yesterday, 7/2/2013, we still have not received a new claim form for the period of 6/23/2013-7/6/2013. Thinking it was delayed in the mail, we registered for CA Edd Web-cert - and also see that there are no claim periods "Ready to File".

How soon do new claim weeks appear on the system? Should we have received a new two week claim period already? Could there potentially be a problem with his claim?

Thanks very much for any insight, from a very concerned Californian.

How long has your husband been claiming benefits? In other words, when did he first open his claim?

We've been claiming since the beginning of May. We've received 5 weeks worth of payments so far.

He was terminated from his job and has already gone through the interview process as well. We have not yet received an official approval letter (just the benefit award letter and claim forms), so I'm concerned that we may be looking at a contested benefit from his ex-employer

What do you mean five weeks' worth of payments? Please give exact date when he opened his claim. CA has a one-week waiting period. Then, CA pays biweekly (2 wks benefits) at a time.

If you began receiving money the beginning of May, you should have received at least seven weeks' benefits, as follows:

Two week period ending:

5/11 (1 wk waiting, 1 wk pd)
5/25 (2 wks)
6/08 (2 wks)
6/22 (2 wks)

Which is a total of seven weeks.

CA is slower these days in paying and other things, because their workers have reduced hours due to budget issues. If you haven't received a notice that the claim has been contested, for now, it may be just a delay in CA's processing.

Otherwise, call CA - start dialing in early a.m., and keep dialing until you're put in a queue. If you use 800 no., 5-1-1-0 or 5-5-1-0 will usually get you through. Or, read last few pages of this thread:

I think Adriadne22 might be right on the delay. i've had times where I had to email them when I didn't get a payment after 12 days. 1 day later after the email form, I got my payment. It's been some what irregular in terms of them processing it on time or updating everyone's payment.

Hey everyone, just a follow up -

We finally saw a new 2-week period appear on the edd-webcert site yesterday, July 7th. This was for the period of June 23th - July 6th. Yay!
