I'm in NY state and I've just started on EB. Last week, the final week of Tier IV, I was paid 101.25 as that was all that was left in my account.
Today my balance is $4,860.00 which is 12 weeks ($405 x 12 = $4,860.00) and I presume this is after the payment of $405 for last week (w/e 10/3/10). The remaining balance would bring me to 12/19/10. However, the NYS DOL site says
Quote:
Note: The last payable week of Extended Benefits is the week ending December 5, 2010."
No, NYS is NOT miscalculating. Without an extension of EUC beyond its current expiration of November 30th, most states are not paying EB much beyond the first or second week of December. In your case, without an extension, EB payments cease on 12/5.
If, at some point, EUC is extended, then what remains of your EB will be paid. In the past the extensions have been retroactive to the last expiration date. However, it was close to two months before Congress could agree on anything when EUC expired on June 2, so payments on the tiers and EB ceased for two months or more, depending on how long it took the states to get caught up.
