Brady and Kristen, what a cliff hanger! I wonder if John will be angry with Marlena for not telling him about the affair. But then if she did she would have run the risk of him accusing her of not minding her own business. She was really between a rock and a hard place.
I thought it was funny the way Marlena sounded so exasperated when she told John that he should go to Brady's office and invite him to join them for New Year's Eve knowing what he would be walking into. John will at least be upset that she steered him into an embarrassing scene.
I think though that being a psychiatrist, Marlena should have figured out Kristin's little game that she wanted John to know about her and Brady. Kristin really played her for a fool.

I think Marlena knows what Kristen is trying to do but is just letting it play out because if she says anything negative about Kristen, she'll be playing into Kristen's hands by having everyone think Marlena is the one whose got an axe to grind.

Marlena didn't tell John but she led him to where he could find out. I meant that John may realize that when Marlena told him to go to Brady's office to invite him to join them for New Year's Eve at Horton Square, John may then realize that she knew he would find Kristen and Brady there doing the desk dance. So it wasn't just an innocent request to have him invite Brady out for New Year's Eve but a deliberate attempt to expose (no pun intended) Kristen and Brady.
That may annoy John a little bit unless Marlena lies and says it was all innocent on her part and she really just intended for him to go there to invite Brady to celebrate the New Year with them. She could say she did not know what John was going to find.
But I think John is going to figure out that Marlena knew about the "Bristen" coupling all along.
A dream. Hmm, I never thought of that. They do seem to do a lot of that on that show. Question is, who's dream would it be? Marlena's? John's? Brady's? or Kristen's?
Yes she did. You may have missed the part where Marlena and John were in Horton Square. John excused himself to take a phone call. Marlena was standing around waiting for him when Kristen came up to her and began taunting her about why she hadn't told John about her and Brady.
Kristen said that there must be a reason and so she figured it was safe to tell her that even though she could say she was on her way to meet Brady in his office for a "consultation" (or some word she made sound sexy) if Marlena said anything to John about it she would just say she was on her way to Brady's office to return a file and held up a file she had asked Brady to give her earlier just for that reason as a cover in case anyone asked her where she was going.
Marlena told Kristen that she wasn't going to do her next move because she was getting even or was angry or annoyed but because she just wanted to and proceeded to give Kristen a good whack on the face. Ha, ha.
Kristen left after calling Marlena a byatch.
Then Marlena walked away. John returned looking for Marlena but found Kristen who was all lovey-dovey on him. Marlena saw them from a distance. She walked further on. John found Marlena. He asked why she left. She told him she saw him with Kristen. She was angry. He told her not to start that again.
She said, "Okay, let's do it your way. Let's forget about Kristen and you go to Brady's office and ask him to join us tonight for New Year's Eve."
She figured that by the time John got there hanky panky would be going on.
Sounds like something Marlena would do. She wanted John to find out but didn't want to be the one to tell him. Guess that PhD came in handy, after all.
